Givers v Takers
- In James Clear's book Give and Take there are three types of people; Givers, Takers and Matchers. I've been thinking about the people I know who have had success by being a Taker, but the book has helped me also see how that has hindered those people in the long run. It's tempting to be a Matcher when faced with compulsive Takers, but in the long run it's the Givers that win.
Perspective
- I've been reading Sapiens and it provides me with oodles of perspective. For one example, I've really only considered history as a fraction of what makes up our actual history. People get so caught up in things that have been done for a few hundred years, forgetting about the thousands of years beforehand. Another perspective is on things that are made up. I sometimes forget that a business is just a made up thing that only exists our collective minds.
